Size does matter!!

Yes It’s been a while since I updated round these parts but I never did promise you a daily update did I.

Well on to the topic in hand – Size! Size of what I hear you ask, no not the size of Emile Heskey’s shirt nor the size of Brad Friedel’s Gloves.

No I’m talking about the size of pitches. After watching the FA Cup last weekend I realised that the ultimate tool in a Non league clubs Arsenal is to make the pitch size smaller to give the more skillful opposition less space to use their creativity.

Arsenal used this trick to their advantage in the late ’90s when they didn’t have a plethora of widemen to use.

So what am i actually asking for? The option to tweak my pitch size to suit the type of play I want to deploy. If I don’t have wingers I’m wanting to play on a narrow pitch to avoid the opposition having too much space to exploit my lack of width.

If I don’t have any pace up front I want the option to make the pitch the minimum length to play to my strengths rather than the oppositions.

So please, please, please Mr. SI – let me tweak the pitch size in game so that I can help Bury defeat Manchester United in the FA Cup!
